This week’s podcast episode of If This Film Taught Us Anything sees Lorraine and Zenia discussing a collection of films that they saw in November.  During the episode we talk, mainly, about Robin Hood (Taron Egerton, Jamie Foxx, Jamie Dornan, Tim Minchin, Ben Mendelsohn) and Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald (Johnny Depp, Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Zoe Kravitz).

We ask ourselves who asked for these films, why and how they got made and whether there’s actually enough material in other film to warrant the franchises that they are clearly trying to set up.  We ponder the costumes in both films, the locations in Robin Hood and the CGI in Crimes of Grindelwald.  We wonder whether we can learn anything from these films and we consider whether our heroes have lived long enough to become villains.
